Red, White & Blue

Yes, I’m very patriotic and am proud to be a citizen of two amazing countries. I love everything red, white and blue. I know it’s a bit early for these but I had just purchased these flag stencils from Visible Image and just had to create something.

Let’s start with the Union Jack just because that’s where I currently reside. These stencils are really easy to use. Masking was a breeze. The ink I used was Distress Ink: barn door, fire brick, faded jeans, and chipped sapphire. Once inked, I stamped some scripted words from a Tim Holtz set with Archival Jet Black in the red bit and numbers from Dapper set in chipped sapphire.

The vision definition stamp is also from Visible Image and easy to mask for the two colours.

To complete it off I mounted it on two layers of red and blue paper, added some ideology and twine.

Now for Old Glory. I used the same Distress Inks as above and the Visible Image.

Before I stencilled I stamped and embossed in white America and the Pledge of Allegiance. This worked better with this stencil.

America the Beautiful, land that I love. So looking forward to returning to my homeland.

Happy Creating
